MOUA.CH: the third coup for brambus!

The trio oua.ch was founded in 2003 and presents with the exciting "The Essence Of A Deep Kiss" already their fourth CD, the third on brambus! The three musicians have found the best interaction long ago and persuade with a wide range of musical influences – and they show in a perfect way, that innovative music does not have to be top-heavy. Unconventional, spontaneous and inventive is their repertoire and it results in a witty mixture of emotional and contemporary and multicultural self penned compositions. The band always knows how to surprise with their interactive improvisation. Strongly stamped by the sound of each individual instrumentalist, oua.ch balances ingeniously between stomach and
tricky arrangements and let the diverse style influences unite to a special all. The trio surrounding known guitar master Markus Moser can more and more be seen and heard on stages all over Europe, but including some overseas visits such as at the Cuban Jazz-Festival in Havana and more. Mit „Sour Milk Musik“ präsentiert das Trio „oua.ch“ bereits ihre dritte selbstproduzierte CD und das zweite Werk für Brambus. Die im 2003 gegründete Formation zeigt auf diesem neuen Album einen gelungenen Mix von eigenen Kompositionen und spontan entstandenen und konservierten Improvisationen. Diverse orientalische Einflüsse sind unüberhörbar, vor allem wenn sich Gitarrist Markus Moser seiner elektrischen Sitar bedient. Die oft überraschend und minimalistisch gespielten Phrasen erzeugen eine unglaubliche Spannung, und lassen den nötigen Raum um Spontanes entstehen zu lassen oder Leitmotive weiterzuentwickeln. Von mitreissenden Jungle Grooves bis hin zur einfühlsamen Ballade reicht das Spektrum der stets authentisch und transparent wirkenden Musik. Clichés werden gesprengt und in neue Zusammenhänge gestellt.
Aber auch interaktives Zusammenspiel und inspirierte Improvisationen, mal mit Witz dann wieder melancholisch, machen diese CD zu einem äusserst spannendem und originellem Hörerlebnis.

The young trio „OUA.CH“ presents with „Sour Milk Musik“ allready their third selfproduced CD and their second work for brambus. The trio – founded in 2003 – shows on this new CD a very well mixture of self penned compositions and spontaneously created improvisations. Several oriental influences cannot be overheard, mainly when guitar maestro Markus Moser uses his electric sitar. The often minimalistic and surprising played phrases creative an unbelievable tension and leave enough space to create ideas or develop the guiding theme. The spectrum oft heir music leads from stirring jungle grooves to sensitive ballads and remains authentic and transparent at all time.
But also the interactive play of the three music is full of inspiration and improvisation, sometimes filled with humour and then again very melancholic. All this makes this CD to a very unusual hearing experience.

Ein weiterer neuer Name bei Brambus: OUA.CH (ausgesprochen: „wasch“) – ein dynamisch, kreatives und improvisationsreiches Trio, welches im Sommer 2003 gegründet wurde und in deren Reihen auch Markus Moser (früher bei Brambus schon mit zwei tollen CDs mit „M 2/5“ zu finden!) mitspielt. Nebst dem Gitarristen Moser haben sich in diesem Trio der Schlagzeuger Martin Ries und der Bassist Pierre-André Dougoud gefunden. Die drei Berufsmusiker können auf eine lange Musikkarriere zurückblicken, die sie auch mit vielen internationalen Künstlern auf gemeinsame Bühnen brachten. Sie kannten sich bereits vor der Bandgründung und diese Erfahrung spürt man aus dem neuesten gemeinsamen Projekt deutlich heraus.

Die Musik von OUA.CH ist geprägt von der Spielart jedes einzelnen Instrumen-talisten, aber auch durch die eigenen, spontanen Ideen, die jeder Künstler mit einbringt. Nebst den bereits bestehenden Eigenkompositionen bleibt ein Teil des Repertoires offen, damit spontane Atmosphären und Stimmungen entstehen können. Entsprechend passend zu dieser freien Improvisation wurde auch der Titel des Albums gewählt „Feuille Blanche“, man füllte nicht das Notenblatt, sondern spielte spontan – derart kreativ und mitreissend, dass keinerlei Overdubs gemacht wurden!

Ab Herbst 2005 wird das Trio mit dem neuen Album im Gepäck intensiv auf Tournee sein! Moderne Klänge, virtuos aufbereitet und frisch serviert!

Another new name that goes with Brambus: OUA.CH (pronounced ouash) – a dynamic and creative trio, which grows strongly with improvisations. Formed in the summer of 2003, the trio includes former brambus recording artist Markus Moser (who recorded two exciting cds with his band „M 2/5“). Along with guitar player moser play the drummer Martin Ries und bass virtuoso Pierre-André Dougoud. All the fulltime musicians can look back on a long musical activity, which brought them together with many internationally known performers. They did know each other before from several other projects and therefore they grew extensively during the spontaneous work together.

The music of OUA.CH is highlighted by the indivual playing style of each of the three artists, but also by their own spontaneous ideas. Along with the already existing self penned compositions remains another part of the repertoire fully open to create a spontaneous atmosphere with improvisations. Therefore well matching is the title of the cd: “Feuille Blanche” – they do not overfill the paper with music, they play spontaneous and very creative and fascinating and recorded the album without any overdubs or corrections.

Starting autumn 2005 the trio will be touring together, with this new cd in the baggage and with their modern sounds, virtuosly arranged, prepared and served! Keep you eyes and ears open!
