Das Trio Prêt-à-Porter nähert sich auf eigene Weise der Musik des grossen amerikanischen Musicalkomponisten Cole Porter. Seine unvergesslichen Melodien, die von Madame Monroe und Herrn Sinatra gerne gesungen wurden, werden auf witzige und freche Art aufgewühlt und mal in streng straightem Arragement, mal in fremder, jazziger Manier zum neuen Hörabenteuer.
In nicht alltäglicher Besetzung wagen sich Brönnimann, Reimann und Wiget an das Songmaterial von Cole Porter. Saxophon, Cello und Gitarre sind Instrumente der unterschiedlichsten Musikstilrichtungen. Nicht nur die Besetzung, sondern auch der musikalische Background der verschiedenen Instrumentalisten lässt eine stilistische Vielfalt zu. Die drei Musiker kennen keine Berührungsängste. In verschiedensten Formationen spielten sie von Jazz, klassischer Musik, Noise-Core, improvisierter Musik bis Soul, Afro und Flamenco mit Musikern wie Pierre Favre, Iva Bitova, Eddie Loyd, Urs Blöchlinger, Sugimoto Taku, William Bell, Peter Schärli, u.a.
Im Mai 2001 spielte Prêt-à-Porter im Radiostudio Zürich ihre erste CD ein. Diese wird im März und April nächstes Jahr auf einer grösseren Tour durch die Schweiz und Italien vorgestellt.
The trio Prêt-à-Porter celebrates the music of the great composer Cole Porter in its own way. The unforgetable melodies, which have been sung by madame Monroe and mister Sinatra, have been re-arranged and are presented in a straight way with humor and creativity and lead in new and very jazzy manner to a unique listening expreience. The unusual line-up with Brönnimann, Reimann and Wiget - all part of the grat contemporary jazz generation of Switzerland - get close to the songmatreial with saxophone, cello and guitar; instruments of very different musical styles, wich allow a wide musical and stilistic play. The threee musicians are not affraid of approaching the loved material and they have been experienced in different groups, reching from jazz to classical music, from noise-core, improvised music to soul, from soul, afro and flamenco to the music of the established Piere Favre, Iva Bitova, Eddie Floyd, Urs Blöchlinger, Sugimoto Taku, William Bell, Peter Schärli and many others. Prêt-à-Porter recorded in the studios of Swiss national radio DRS2 in Zürich and will be extensivly touring with the new CD currentli in mid-Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy), but hopefully soon also in your territories ...
