Wer die CD hört, will LOOM live erleben.

The Brambus-family is thrilled: the new, second CD of Swiss band „LOOM” is out. It is called “thank you” and was recorded by front woman Manu Oesch Olowu and her fellow musicians Jo Eberhard (guitar, mandolin), Mario Söldi (drums, backing vocals), Karin Schlegel (backing vocals) and Christof Schlegel (bass). The new record features a number of magnificent songs that one cannot help but be grateful for. The band display their hearts and souls, open completely new emotional universes and caress the audience’s ears. The songs establish themselves deep inside your ear canals and will never leave you alone.

The music of „LOOM“ is straightforward and indisputably honest. Every single song was written and composed by lead singer Manu Oesch Olowu and arranged by the whole band. This direct connection is noticeable on each track. The music comes from the bottom of their hearts and goes straight to the listener’s. It causes one’s inner strings to vibrate intensively, once soft and tender, another time funky and rocky. And how it sounds! Little by little, this CD awakens undisclosed desires, desires of warmth and company, desires of flying away and travelling abroad. The album is a gift to the world that contains songs of pure love, love to the one elect and love to the whole word in all its beauty.

Pop-Rock with influences of world music, as versatile and at the same time imprecise the name of this genre might sound, as colourful is the palette of “thank you”. LOOM cannot be classified into one of the usual musical drawers. They are one of a kind, the combination of the best elements of all sorts of music.
Take exceptionally gifted musicians an intensive and authentic singer and impressive background voices, mix it all up with a proper portion of rock and pop, flavour it with passion and funk, tenderness and lenity, and bake twelve cupcakes out of it - each of which offering unique spice and versatile but consequently exquisite taste. Nevertheless, one can always feel: all songs originate from the very same kitchen, were created, optimized and honed by the very same artful craftsmanship, until they accomplished their final shape and were ended up as one of the 12 hits on the CD. LOOM have taken their time for the second recording by developing, arranging, mixing and trying out different things until the menu can now finally be served as “thank you”, their second CD.

Whoever listens to the CD, wants to experience LOOM at a live show. Just as off the record, LOOM are stunning on stage. They can drive you crazy and lift you into new highs at the same time, just like a good old Whiskey.
LOOM makes happy, LOOM arouses emotions, LOOM is round and complete. LOOM doesn’t need time to accustom - insert the disc and off you go!

A wonderful addition to the Brambus catalogue, in the Songwriter/Rock/Soul area, 'Loom' is the band in which singer, guitarist and songwriter Manu Olowu finds herself at home. Her songs arise out of those times when everything goes wrong, when life is shaken to the core, or when the heart beats faster than usual. Mostly they're concerned with love. What it is, what it isn't, how it ought to be, could be, should be, or aspires to be, how it can be rejected and dying or, immortal, generate wave after wave. The material is also concerned with the disagreeable; the scandal-mongers, the ignorant, the liars and the suicides. But in every case it's the feelings which count. Feelings; without which life would be dull, and without which there would be no music in the world.

Feeling is also what drives the musicians to accompany these songs, to give them wings or make them bite. Feelings, too, are the reason these four musicians have stayed true to each other, year in, year out; naturally enough, not without passing musical affairs and supportive sub-plots, leaps in the dark and strange escapades. Certainly, it would be a shame if musicians such as Mario Söldi on drums, Michael Hutter on bass, and Jo Eberhard on guitar and mandolin were not out there in the restless world of music; and of course Manu Olowu, too, has her own stories on the boil. But most of the time they're together.

Yes, as is so well said, 'don't change a winning team! Open your ears - this is a special debut album.
